January 3 - Groundbreaking for new Canton office

January 5 - Beef and Forage Meeting, Canton, TX 

  • The goal of the Van Zandt Livestock/Forage Committee is to promote agriculture and increase agriculture awareness in Van Zandt County.

January 14 - Agrilife Extension East Region Agriculture Conference and Expo, Tyler, TX

  • This event was organized by the AgriLife Extension agents of Anderson, Cherokee, Gregg, Henderson, Panola, Rains, Rusk, Smith, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood counties.  The conference was for professionals in lawn care, city parks departments, athletic field maintenance, pest control services and agricultural producers seeking continuing education credits. Legacy Ag Credit had a booth at this event. 

January 26 - Northeast Texas Cattleman's Conference - Carrol Green Civic Center, Quitman, TX

  • This event was organized by the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension program to cover topics including: herd health, utilizing EPD's for bull selection, predator control, pasture herbicide updates and new products an industry panel of producers, buyers, and sale barn owners. Guest speakers include Dr. Jason Cleere- Associate Professor and Extension Beef Cattle Specialist, Texas A&M University and Adam Henry, Wildlife Damage Management Biologist for USDA. Legacy Ag Credit had a booth at this event.
