Legacy Ag Credit Donates $10,000 to Como-Pickton ISD

December 26, 2023

Legacy Ag Credit presented Como-Pickton ISD with a $10,000 check for the repairs and renovation of their greenhouse following the June 2023 storms. Legacy Ag Credit, a rural lending cooperative, made a $10,000 donation to Como-Pickton ISD severe storms that destroyed the school’s greenhouse in June 2023. “There’s tremendous amounts of damage. Extremely large amounts of damage, “said Lydia Walden, Assistant Superintendent of Como-Pickton CISD to KETK.

A note from Como-Pickton ISD Superintendent Dr. Greg Bower stated that “Our school was devastated by a tornado and excessively strong storm winds in mid-June 2023. While we have been positive and resilient in our recovery efforts, our damages have been overwhelming to our small little school. Among the areas heaviest hit included our school’s CTE-FFA Ag buildings. One of the areas that was destroyed was our greenhouse.”

“The school district still has a lot of work to do on their facilities to recover completely from the storms,” said Legacy Ag Credit Canton Branch Manager Joseph Grier. “We are excited to be able to help provide a bit of relief and assistance where needed.”

This donation is part of Legacy Ag Credit’s outstanding commitment to communities and agriculture.
