SULPHUR SPRINGS, Texas - Seven students from across Legacy Ag Credit’s territory were awarded a combined $20,000 in scholarships this year as part of the association’s ongoing investment in youth, education, and rural communities. With nearly 50 applications submitted, Legacy Ag Credit was incredibly impressed by the work ethic, leadership, agricultural involvement, and future aspirations represented in this year’s applicants.

Scholarship recipients include:

  • Ashlynn Tracy from Mabank received $5,000 and plans to attend Texas A&M University.
  • Addisyn Horn from Hallsville received $2,500 and plans to attend Texas A&M School of Law.
  • Isabelle Suits from Wills Point received $2,500 and plans to attend Tarleton State University.
  • Daisy Plaschke from Hallsville received $2,500 and plans to attend East Texas A&M University.
  • Sienna Posey from Sulphur Springs received $2,500 and plans to attend Texas A&M University.
  • Sidney Sinclair from Mabank received $2,500 and plans to attend Texas A&M University.
  • Dylann Hillhouse from Canton received $2,500 and plans to attend Tarleton State University.

“One of the most rewarding things we get to do at Legacy Ag Credit is support students who are passionate about agriculture and their future,” said Legacy Ag Credit CEO Derrell Chapman. “We are proud to support their educational journeys and excited to see the impact they will make in their communities.”

Scholarships were awarded based on a combination of academic merit, community involvement, leadership, and a demonstrated interest in agriculture. Recipients were selected through a blind review process conducted by a scholarship committee made up of Legacy Ag Credit employees and local member-borrowers. Applications were evaluated anonymously, without consideration of names, schools, or personal details, ensuring a fair and impartial selection process.
