Legacy Ag Credit announces the addition of Rorey Maier to the cooperative’s lending team. Maier, a native of South Dakota, attended Vernon College in Vernon, Texas, after which he began his full-time professional rodeo career as a bull rider, qualifying for the National Final Rodeo in Las Vegas in 2016.
In 2019, Maier married Megan Gay and made Terrell, Texas his home. The Maier’s have deep roots in the rodeo and ranching industry. Megan’s grandfather, Neal Gay, started the Mesquite Rodeo and blazed a trail for rodeo as we know it today. Rafter G Rodeo is still involved in producing rodeos and providing quality bucking stock for professional rodeos around the country. Rorey’s grandfather, Bud Day was a champion all-around cowboy and hall of famer.
“Growing up in a farming and ranching community has been a blessing for me and is something that I love, I’m happy for the opportunity to join Legacy Ag Credit and assist others the way Legacy helped Megan and I purchase our first property.” says Maier. “It’s exciting to give back and help others in building their Legacy for years to come.”
“We are excited to have Rorey join Legacy in our Terrell office,” says CEO Derrell Chapman. “His connection to farming and ranching will be an asset as he helps families achieve their dream of owning land and living the rural life.”
