Sulphur Springs, Texas- Legacy Ag Credit, and agricultural lending cooperative, recently announced two grant recipients.
Legacy Ag Credit awarded $10,000 in grant funding divided between two organizations to assist their efforts to support the next generation of agriculturists. The following FFA programs received funding:
Harrison County 4-H - $5,000
Harrison County 4-H will use the grant funding for their new robotics program. The Robotics in Texas 4-H project is an engaging and educational initiative designed to introduce Texas 4-H youth to the exciting world fo robotics. This project aims to provide hands-on learning experiences, foster creativity, develop critical thinking skills, and promote STEM education among young Texans. Participants will have the opportunity to design, build, program, and compete with robots while gaining valuable skills for their future.
Quitman FFA - $5,000
Quitman FFA will purchase and industrial grade laser cutter/engraver to support students participating in a Supervised Agricultural Experience: School-based Enterprise (SBE - student-run business) which would provide various goods and services like engraved awards, plaques, promotional products and mementos for the FFA Chapter, as well as the District and other organizations . This SBE would provide realistic and practical learning experiences that will prepare students for the transition from school to work or college from multiple angles: entrepreneurship, creative design, advertising, sales, management, leadership, operations and production.
Legacy Ag Credit is a borrower-owned lending cooperative that finances agriculture, rural real estate, rural homes and barndominiums, poultry farms, timber operations, and agribusiness in Northeast Texas.
Legacy Ag Credit is part of the nationwide Farm Credit System.
